about

NYC duo Bot is a bass and drum male/female tandem whose five-track minimalist metal excursion slams down fierce blasts of tribal metal fury (“Pinchot Pass”). Thick slabs of bass guitar explode with authority while a spastic percussive performance dexterously holds everything down and finds time to break into tangents in the process (“Rowena”). Boasting robotically rhythmic strikes contorted through noise rock twists and turns, Bot create a low end driven machine that pummels with a foundation-shaking sound encouraged by their free-spirited delivery of heaviness.

- Mike SOS, Deli magazine

The first thing you might notice about Bot is the strewn out, death rattle of Tracy's drumming. She is incomparable in her hard playing and technical tumbling. Bryan's riffage is like a giddy school child doing balloons of nitrous and worshiping from the altar of Angus Young, D. Boon, and Page Hamilton, but on bass! The record is metal and scientific and stripped down, but raw and abrasive and warm. Bot may in fact be the Spiritual inheritors of the Edgar Winter throne- incredibly talented musicians that perhaps wont be understood in this time, this Now, this dimension.

"Guns and Jungles" is an anthem to technocracy and speed. "Pinchot Bass" is unconsciously as hardcore as any shit I've heard this year, and perhaps is a reference to the great actor, Bronson Pinchot. "Rowena" is a tribute to the dissonant wail of the killer riff. "Wee Beasties" is true math kill me insanity. Finally, "Who...What...Werewolf" tops it all off with a real metal, heavy as shit barrage of robots destroying your garbage can type mayhem.
